About Lisa Fraser

Fresh Out of the Shower

My name is Lisa Fraser. I am 21 years old, and live in Melbourne, Australia. I have a tiny scruffy dog called Rylee, a laptop called Julian and a 30GB video iPod named Stelle. I also have an as yet unnamed ice-blue Nintendo DS Lite; she is the baby of my little electronic devices family.

I have a Flickr account and (try to) regularly post what I’m doing on Twitter. Feel free to add me; I’m very friendly. In a totally non-sexual way. Let’s just be friends, ‘kay?

There are an awful lot of things that I like doing, and if you have read even one post on this site you will have figured out already that me liking something does not necessarily mean that I do it well. Nevertheless, here are some of the things I like:

  • Writing
  • Reading
  • Stationery
  • Web design
  • Blogging
  • Creating stuff in Photoshop
  • Playing UO, GW, and TS2
  • Typing in acronyms so no one knows what I’m talking about
  • Television advertisements
  • Making lists
  • Bags (Handbags, backpacks, clutches; I love ‘em all.)

Things that I actually am good at are rare, and it is for that reason that I’m sharing. Do you feel the love? Keep in mind that these are things that I think I am good at, so it may be one of those ‘perspective’ kind of things:

  • Dealing with small (and not-so-small) ferocious children
  • Procrastinating
  • Working under pressure
  • Forgetting stuff (Like things I said five seconds ago. Ah, talents.)

Since I have listed my talents, it seems only fair that I should also share my flaws:

  • I can’t draw, at all. Not even a basic cube.
  • Money has a tendency to.. disappear around me. I don’t know where it goes..

I completed Senior VCAL, a Year 12 (VCE) equivalent course in 2006, and then studied Certificate IV of Science for six months in 2007, until I decided it wasn’t for me. I’m currently studying Professional Writing & Editing at RMIT, and enjoying myself immensely.

My relationship of one and a half years with my first boyfriend ended on the 20th of March, 2008. It was a mutual agreement, and we both feel that we made the right decision. I am currently single and not looking. Gentil and I remain great friends, and hope to stay that way.

About Tempered Fragility

I have been through a great many website/blog names, but I ended up choosing Tempered Fragility because I liked the contradictory phrase it created.

Tempered means “made hard, or flexible, or resilient” and Fragility means “the condition or quality of being fragile”. I happen to be quite a contradictory person, so I feel that the title suits me.

TF was launched (finally) on the 25th of September, 2006. The site used to be hosted for free by 50Webs and powered by Thingamablog. Now, it is hosted by MD Web Hosting, and powered by Wordpress. I create the themes myself, and hope to provide a screenshot gallery of old themes.

Thank you.
