After much trial and error..

Well yeah, okay.. it was mostly error. Nonetheless, the blog is now up and running! This is certainly an event worthy of much “ooh-ing” and “ahh-ing”. Ha. Yeah, right. This one will hopefully last a little longer than the others.. but you know what, I really doubt that. We shall see. My LJ has lasted awhile, surprisingly, so maybe this will do the same.

I’m running this on Thingamablog.. if you like the idea of stand alone blogging software that only requires a web host that gives you FTP access, then I strongly suggest you check it out. Templates are easily customizable and it’s easy to use once you get the “Base Path” setting out of the way. Blasted thing.. *mumbles*

But yes, anyway. Check it out, it’s great. Especially the fact that you don’t have to be logged into a website to compose your post. That’s one of the reasons I like LJ, too. I can start typing a post at like 4pm and not publish it until 9pm, because I get distracted and such. So I love the fact that all of the composing and such is done on your own computer, there’s no risk of being logged out of a website. For comments, I’m using HaloScan.. apparently it’s pretty good. It’s certainly easy to use, and it comes well recommended, so I’m happy. =)

This morning I took Bella for a walk at 6:30am. Yes, you people who know me and are doubting this because of how lazy I am, it’s true! Not that I woke up that early, but still. Staying up late enough to see the sunrise and then going for a run with a Labrador who had boundless energy despite the freezing cold and bitter wind isn’t exactly the sort of thing a lazy person like me does, is it? Apart from the staying up late enough to see the sunrise, I actually do that a fair bit. [Note to self: house faces East, roughly.]

I’ll just say that my weekend with Gentil was fantastic, because I’ve already written about the details in LJ, and I don’t feel like repeating myself. Oh, and I’ll speak briefly about the movie. We saw Silent Hill, and it was actually pretty good. It was a lot better than I thought it would be, that’s for sure. It had a plot and everything! The company was excellent though, so that may have made a difference. I could NOT believe that I got asked for I.D. It was MA15+ for godsake.. how embarassing is that? Just happens to coincide with the first time I’ve not worn a padded bra in public for awhile. Perhaps it’s related.. or maybe he’s just a bad judge of age.

Oh! Interview with the Vampire. [I can basically hear Gentil cursing at me right about now. Muahaha.] “I’m sure Christina Ricci is in this with Kirsten Dunst. There were two little girls.” Ha. “No, there was only one. Christina Ricci isn’t in Interview with the Vampire.” We argued about it for awhile, actually. It’s been ongoing. So, he hired the DVD and we watched it. And guess who was right? Me! Haha.

Mmkay, well I’ve rambled long enough. Time to go check out PostSecret, and add some more postcards to my ever-growing collection. I may even choose some for the gallery..
