An “unstoppable” blog post.
I should ideally be doing homework right now… but I seem to have come across a stop sign, so I figured that maybe writing a blog entry would unstop me, so to speak.
Katie made me laugh when I got home from Gentil’s yesterday (after staying there Friday night). She ran up and hugged me, then looked up at me, glaring, and said “You’ve been kissing Gentil!” I was like, “What makes you say that?” Her response? “You smell like him!” *dies laughing* So funny.
Erm, I accomplished abolutely nothing I wanted to these holidays, except for spending time with Gentil. That goal was well and truly accomplished. =) In regards to school work, I should possibly have done some. Yeah. Oh well. I’ll catch up, I just got a bit lazy last term. For some reason it seemed both long and short. Maybe it just seemed long because of all the work we were doing. It stretched on forever while I was at TAFE, anyway, but the rest of the time flew by. Odd.
I was reading an article on A List Apart just before, and I must say, it surprises me that people DON’T want to conform to standards, or use CSS. I love CSS. Seriously, when I was first learning HTML, when I was about 13 or 14, I QUIT because I thought the nested tables and font tags everywhere were absolutely ridiculous, and completely inefficient. Then I discovered CSS. It makes everything so much easier. Sure, it has limitations, and IE only provides somewhat crappy support (what else is new?) and can also produce crazy behaviour at random times (WTF have you done to my beautiful list that renders so beautfully in EVERY other “main” browser, IE6! *shakes fist*)… but honestly, CSS is fantastic.
Standards are fantastic, too. When I do eventually get a hand-held device with wireless internet access (*dreams*) so I can surf the ‘net on the train (and the tram, and the bus, and while I should be doing schoolwork, and..) I want to be able to browse any site I like, and at the very least have the unstyled content available. And I don’t want it full of images (which of course will show their alt titles, because to save on ridiculously high bandwidth costs I will have turned images off) called “spacer.gif”. Ugh. *shudders* Spacer images.. bleh.
Ahem. Anyway. Just ignore that little rant. Good news, I’m unstopped! (Hence the title.. yes, I know, I’m funny. =P)
Ciao for now.
