Making My Soul Feel Better.

Last night, I developed an awful headache. I wouldn’t compare it to a migraine, but it wasn’t your standard, run-of-the-mill pain, either. Instead of taking a couple of Advil and going to bed, like most intelligent people would, I decided to struggle through it on my own. I don’t like drugs; not even Advil.

So, to take my mind off the pain – which, by the way, had wrapped itself around my brain and was using it as a stress ball – I decided to have a long shower and pamper myself a little bit. And by pamper, I mean doing more than hastily scrubbing myself clean in the shower and towel-drying my hair.

Which means that I wasted a lot of water, and still towel-dried my hair. But hey, I also trimmed, filed and painted my nails. Plus, I took the time to lightly moisturise my skin and all that good stuff. It made my soul feel better, but didn’t seem to help my headache much. Thankfully I fell asleep quickly, and slept through it.

I’ll tell you what else made my soul feel better? Buying STUFF. I went to Smiggle today and bought some manila folders, plus a marker. Then, I got some paperclips and a new (working) version of my favourite pen. Yes, you heard right. To make me happy, the only thing you need to do is buy me paperclips.

I guess I’m a cheap date, or something.

(I have SO MUCH to write about, pages and pages in my notebooks that I want to mention, but I just have not had the time or – to be honest – the inclination to do so. I hope to write like a FIEND this weekend, so that I have a whole list of draft posts to put up next week when I don’t want to write about my oh-so-exciting life.)
