Well..

It’s 12:40am, and I still can’t sleep. And I have an early start tomorrow, scrapbooking with Carol in the morning, and then Math with Penny in the afternoon. What on earth is wrong with me? Meh.

Gentil stayed over last night, which was pretty awesome, even though the kids harassed us a lot. Damn siblings. Ah well. What can you do? We had fun, anyway, and he didn’t mind. Thank god, because it’s not like I can change my family, nor would I want to.

I helped people on LEIA today, yay. =) Also, I gained the next ‘rank’ (level, basically) so I’m happy. And a propellerhead. Tee Hee.

I’ve joined like.. *counts* five layout competitions on HL, and I don’t think I’m going to win any of them. This is for a few reasons:

  • The people on HL want PRO layouts. Must be PRO!!!1!! they exclaim,
while stamping their feet and demanding about ten different
contradictory things which will look awful together.
  • The people on HL actually -like- bad design. Seriously. A hard to read
layout with a shoddy picture and bad text is gold, baby! If you have
MS Paint and MS Frontpage, you’re all set! (Amazing how both of those
products are made by Microsoft, and both produce crap..)
  • That totally reminds me of a joke.. oh wait, getting off-topic.
  • The people on HL like being difficult by deliberately requesting
    things that are difficult.
  • The people on HL lie. They say, “Oh wow, a pro looking layout!” and
then you read their page and it says, “I haven’t found a layout that
    has blown me away yet..”
  • OR, they say they’ll choose a winner on a specific day and then start
talking about how if they don’t get layouts they like, they’ll use the
money to buy a pre-made. (Sorry, but why not just buy a pre-made in
    the first place? Like, duh.)

So, basically, the people on HL have been spoilt rotten. They have so many choices, so many good designs, that they must get over-excited and go blind. That’s the only possible reason they could have the layouts that they do. Although.. haha, I mean look at MySpace. *snicker* Some people..

Anywho. That was a rather long whine. Let’s move on. Oh yes, the joke! Here goes:

A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft’s electronic navigation and communications equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter’s position. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, and held up a handwritten sign that said “WHERE AM I?” in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window.

Their sign said “YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER.” The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how he had done it. “I knew it had to be the Microsoft Building, because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer.”

All together now: “Ha ha ha ha ha ha!” I found it funny, anyway. As did Gentil. As should everyone. Because it is completely true.

I have a plan to get all my TAFE work done.

  • WEDNESDAY
  • finish computer work station poster
  • contact person for interview
  • create one IT brochure
  • work on my HTML/CSS tutorial
  • THURSDAY
  • create one IT brochure
  • complete the sphere worksheet
  • complete the graphing work
  • work on my HTML/CSS tutorial
  • FRIDAY
  • create one IT brochure
  • complete “Technological Development..” sheet (only that side)
  • work on my HTML/CSS tutorial

I figure I should be able to do that. Maybe. I’m going to try my very best. It’s not all that difficult, the work. It’s just so damn repetitive.

Oh, and I changed my mind about making little books to go with my presentation. I’m going to speak to Elena about getting a projector and setting it up on the computer at the front. That way I can simply put all the info on a webpage, and have it displayed at the front of the class. People can open it up themselves if they want to see a version right in front of them.

I figure I would just be wasting paper if I printed a book for each person. I mean, I’m not kidding myself about people actually being interested in my presentation; I know they won’t be. (Except maybe Gentil, but I think he thinks he has to be.) That’s why at the bottom of the information sheet I’m going to hand out (telling people what they need to bring and what I’m doing) it has: “P.S - I really want to pass Senior VCAL, so if everyone could please either participate willingly or skip class on Monday afternoon, that would be great!” Muahaha.

Wow, so this has turned into a really long post, huh? Oh well. I’m currently debating on whether I should try and get some sleep, or whether I should just stay up now. Considering I have Thursday off, I should probably stay up. I don’t want to risk sleeping through the alarm.

Tomorrow, I need to do the following:

  • actually leave by 7.20am
  • print out ONE copy of my information sheet
  • get Frances to photocopy FIFTEEN copies of said information sheet (No
way am I paying for that.)
  • sit through scrapbooking
  • sit through Math
  • go to the library after school (I need a book on cancer, for my
NaNoWriMo novel, and I’d like to look up some poetry books.)
  • do homework

I was hoping to be able to spend some time at Gentil’s place, but alas, it shall not be. Perhaps this weekend, depending on how things at home go.

I wish LEIA forums would get more active. I think I’m addicted to helping people. I wonder if that even counts as a problem..

That reminds me, I need to change the layout of this site around. And get rid of the pink. I miss the blue, but I think I might actually go with a teal theme. I <3 teal.

Ciao. (ooh, maybe an italian theme.. I love Italy!)
