Why I’m Not NaNo-ing This Month.

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

So, November is upon us and my inbox is flooded with e-mails: NaNoWriMo! NaBloPoMo! Write more in November! Take a deep breath, everyone. Relax. I GOT THE MESSAGE. ALL TWENTY OF THEM.

I’m not participating. November marks the end of the school year for me, and is traditionally a time where I procrastinate by playing games do lots of schoolwork to make sure I pass finish out the year. There’s no way I can post every month. I’ve already faltered, and it’s only the sixth! So, I decided to give it a miss this year. No 50,000 word novel, no failed promises, no guilt or pressure. Instead, I’m going to finish my classes and begin my holidays, doing what I want to do. If it involves writing, great. If not, too bad.

More than likely, it will involved sleeping, copious amounts of Coke and Mentos, and lots of doing nothing.

P.S - I only have three classes left! Squee!

Resolutions, Hair Cuts and Web Design.

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

My resolution for the new year is to write something everyday, and post it here. Sounds so easy.. but considering my success (*cough*) with NaBloPoMO, I’m guessing it will last a week. Maybe two. *shrug*

NYE was generally pretty low key; we went to Sunbury and watched the fireworks with Anthony and Nicole. Next year I am determined to go into the city and document the whole thing with my camera, and possibly a voice recorder.

This post is really short because I’m in the middle of cutting Rylee’s fur.. she may not be all that stylish, but at least she’ll be cool. She was panting non-stop in the heat today, and I’m worried about her losing weight or dehydrating under all that fur. We have a bag full so far, and there is still 1/4 of a puppy to do.

Oh! I wrote a poem today, but I’m still editing it. I will post it here when I’m done though.

I’m also currently in the middle of coding a layout for my Mum’s blog.. ugh. I did something to it, somewhere, but do you think I can find it? I’m considering commenting out ALL of the styling so I can maybe isolate the problem.. wish me luck!

I Can’t Believe It.

All that time I was offline, and I wrote EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. The day after I’m online, I stuff NaBloPoMo up! *tears hair out* I did so well, up until Saturday night, and you know why? It was the dreaded Guild Wars.

Anyway. I got the job at Northland, I entered a competition on SQ, and I scrapped my original NaNoWriMo idea and started a new one. And, that’s about everything.

My life is so awesome. Heh.

Sydney Based Internet Services Suck.

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

I am very impatiently waiting for our internet to be reconnected, which is why my entries have not been posted. I have been writing them though, every day, and while I will backdate them when they are posted, I don’t think that counts as cheating. After all, they have been written faithfully every day, and saved in Word.

I just want my entries to be posted under the date they were actually written, and believe me, if bullying the internet company into putting our internet on right now was possible? It would be done. I don’t have control over them, unfortunately.

And, I mean, they’re from Sydney. If they were Melbourne based, we would have been connected on the FIRST of November, not NINE FREAKIN’ DAYS LATER. Ahem.

Gah, I’m writing this from work, and now I have to go. I shall return, hopefully on Friday.

P.S - NaNoWriMo isn’t going as well as NaBloPoMo, but I am still hopeful. =) Oh, and go and wish Becca a (belated) happy 25th birthday.

Jazz and Internet Withdrawals.

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

NOTE - This is a backdated post, due to the fact that I was without internet at the time it was written.

I write to you all from Microsoft Word, as sadly a glitch that involved Telstra being dumbasses resulted in the internet being unavailable for a while. I am still going to write a blog entry everyday though, and when I post them I will backdate them with a note about why they weren’t posted on the day. As far as I’m concerned, as long as I write a blog entry, it doesn’t matter when it is posted.

Today I went to Mum’s and she drove me to get the new kitten. Gentil and I had already decided to call her Jazz, and thankfully the name seems to suit. She. Is. Gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful, and really friendly. She climbed all over me at the pet store and was relaxed during the two car trips, as well. Plus, she didn’t mind the girls (and boys) tugging at her when I took her back to Mum’s.

Gentil was still at TAFE when I arrived back home, but when he got there I quickly scooped Jazz up and dumped her into his arms. I haven’t seen him grin this much since we slept together for the first time. *wink* Just kidding. She has spent much of the night on a lap, or being held. Or, being harassed by the scruffy white dog. Rylee has spent the whole time chasing her, trying to get her to play, but only scaring the crap out of the poor thing.

I’m waiting for Jazz to realise she has claws - that’s when the real fun starts.

Hopefully this internet crap will be sorted out quickly. *crosses fingers* Don’t go anywhere, Internet! I’ll be back ASAP! *twitches* I’m suffering withdrawals like you would not believe. I cannot believe that this had to happen on the second day of NaNo month. (NaNo month is what I’m going to call November from now on, because typing NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo over and over gets really frustrating.) *sigh*

Hope to be online soon, everyone*. Xox

*By everyone, I do of course mean the six people who faithfully check my site each day. Thanks, guys! I’d love to know who you all are! *hint hint*

NaNoWriMo, NaBloPoMo, and more menstruation.

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

I almost forgot. I have decided to not only participate in NaNoWriMo, but in NaBloPoMo as well! Although I didn’t start this blog to try and write more, I still like the idea of faithfully posting everyday for a month, to try and get into the habit of it. And I was struck with a fabulous idea last night for NaNoWriMo, so I’m going to attempt that as well. Wish me luck! =)

In other news, I have had enough of menstruation now, thank you. God, come and take my ovaries away. The pain is not worth it, surely. So much for, “The pill will help your menstrual pain.” Um, no. The pill is not helping, yet the doctor is hesitant to prescribe anything stronger for some reason. Ugh. *bashes head against desk*
