She Did It Again.

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

There’s something wrong with Rissa.

I changed her litter last night, and this morning it was flooded with pee again. I originally thought that Rylee had used it, but she wasn’t in last night, so. There’s definitely something wrong with her. According to the internet, it could be feline diabetes.

She could also be in season, I suppose, but she isn’t displaying any of the other symptoms. I knew as soon as Jazz was in season; she yowled, she rubbed up against us all the time, she tried desperately to get outside. Rissa is acting completely normal, aside from the excessive peeing.

I’m trying not to think about what that might mean.

Her appointment is at 4pm. I’m hoping to find out more then, but the vet will probably want to do (very expensive) tests before he can tell me anything. Which means I’m free to stress about this for a few days at least. I hate waiting. Seriously.

UPDATE:

The vet told me that Rissa is probably upset because there were six extra people in her ‘pack’ for three months. And now they’re gone, so she’s stressing about that. The peeing on my bed is her trying to re-affirm that the bedroom is our territory. She thinks she’s helping, heh.

I have no idea how to fix this problem, but I’m going to start by keeping her relatively contained and changing her litter regularly. I’ll watch her, and try to spend a little more time with her. Plus, I’ll keep Shadow away from her, so she doesn’t have the chance to attack her.

#2 - Stalking Rylee.

Stalking Rylee.

I thought it was adorable the way Rylee tolerated her jumping all over her as they played outside today.

Resolutions, Hair Cuts and Web Design.

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

My resolution for the new year is to write something everyday, and post it here. Sounds so easy.. but considering my success (*cough*) with NaBloPoMO, I’m guessing it will last a week. Maybe two. *shrug*

NYE was generally pretty low key; we went to Sunbury and watched the fireworks with Anthony and Nicole. Next year I am determined to go into the city and document the whole thing with my camera, and possibly a voice recorder.

This post is really short because I’m in the middle of cutting Rylee’s fur.. she may not be all that stylish, but at least she’ll be cool. She was panting non-stop in the heat today, and I’m worried about her losing weight or dehydrating under all that fur. We have a bag full so far, and there is still 1/4 of a puppy to do.

Oh! I wrote a poem today, but I’m still editing it. I will post it here when I’m done though.

I’m also currently in the middle of coding a layout for my Mum’s blog.. ugh. I did something to it, somewhere, but do you think I can find it? I’m considering commenting out ALL of the styling so I can maybe isolate the problem.. wish me luck!

A Little Bit of Nothing.

NOTE - This is a backdated post due to the fact that I was without internet at the time it was written.

I was looking forward to doing nothing all day today, but as it turns out I ended up going to work at 10am, and then cleaning in the afternoon. Tomorrow is my trial for the shop in Northland; I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I couldn’t concentrate this morning at work because between the animals and Gentil I have like, an inch of bed to sleep on. And I constantly have an appendage in my side, or back, or flung over my head. I really need to find another place for Gentil to sleep. =P

As an aside, yesterday’s posts is one of the best things about running my blog on Wordpress: I can post from anywhere. Thingamablog claims to give you that flexibility, but doesn’t really deliver it. Wordpress for the win!

NOTE - This is a backdated post due to the fact that I was without internet at the time it was written.

The internet crap still isn’t sorted out. Gah.

Jazz is still gorgeous; it’s her claws and teeth I have a problem with. She has decided it is great fun to claw her way up our legs at every opportunity, and bleeding? Bleeding is just something those pitiful humans do, and nothing she needs to worry about.

She hasn’t actually made me bleed yet, but when I went to work last night, I had an impressive collection of scratches. Impressive enough that Sophie was incredulous when I told her a kitten had caused them.

Rylee is acting really weird tonight. She keeps looking at me sadly, and hovering around near me, but when I call her she completely ignores me. And I mean completely. She doesn’t even turn her head. She hasn’t eaten anything either, except when she stole some of Jazz’s food.

I’m worried about her, especially since I found out that the next door neighbours dogs were baited last week. One of them died, and the other one has apparently just come back from the vets. It worries me, a lot, that someone in the neighbourhood could do that to an animal.

I was wondering whether maybe she was jealous over Jazz, but I have been giving her attention all day, and playing with them both together. She is lethargic, as well, and if she isn’t any better tomorrow I am going to call the vet. I don’t want to take any chances; she is my baby, and I don’t want to lose her.

Hopefully tomorrow the ISP will have us connected again. With newer, better internet! ADSL 2! W00t!

I Am Over My Tantrum Now.

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Well, unfortunately my computer shut down last night (little overheating problem) and I lost the huge post I had just typed up. But, I guess my loyal readers (*coughs*) are pretty happy about that, because now they don’t have to listen to my drivel. Ha! I have you fooled, oh loyal readers! Ahem. Yes, as I have infinite patience (ha), I am going to write about everything that was in the original post PLUS stuff that has happened since. Tee hee. So, where to start..? Well, at the beginning I suppose.

On Friday night, Gentil and I went to my Mum’s place to visit. We had fun there, and actually ended up playing Diablo II over the LAN with my brother. Awesome stuff. Saturday night was spent celebrating Anthony’s birthday with him and Nicole. We bought him Civilisation IV, which really pleased Anthony. As I found out, he had bought the Civilisation IV expansion pack thinking it was the actual game. Now he actually has Civilisation IV, and can play it!

We took Rylee with us on Saturday, and despite her and Skye getting off to a rocky start, by the end of the visit they were warming up to one another. While we were at Anthony and Nicole’s, we watched the Final Destination movies. Can I just say now, I love those movies. I have already told Gentil that we have to buy them the first chance we get.

My biggest piece of news, while amusing, isn’t actually that good. I got the washing machine hooked up on Sunday, and decided to put the very first load of washing on, like the dutiful housewife I am aspiring to be (not). So, I put everything in and start it up. Everything starts fine, everything stays put. I’m like, fantastic, and go back to my laptop. About twenty minutes later, Gentil comes out of the bedroom and says, “What the fuck?” in a VERY confused, incredulous voice. I look down.. and just about die of shock on the spot.

By now, I’m sure everyone has realised what happened - I flooded the unit. Not just a room of the unit, and not just a little. Over half of the unit was covered in about one centimetre of water. The LAN cable was swimming, literally. It was underwater. I consider myself incredibly lucky that Gentil handled it the way he did. He didn’t get mad, or yell, or even tell me off. So, anyway. That was the biggest event of the weekend, honestly. The clean-up was atrocious, and very taxing.

I didn’t end up going to class on Monday, as I felt incredibly ill. My asthma is playing up, which doesn’t help, and now I have a blocked nose, a sore throat, a headache, sensitive skin, and dizziness when standing. Yep, you guessed it. I have the flu. Thankfully it is just normal flu, and not the nasty strain that has been going around lately. I wasn’t concerned about me getting it, as I’m confident that my immune system (coupled with lots of drugs) could beat it. I was very concerned about Mum or the girls getting it, though. If Mum contracted that nasty flu, I really don’t like to think about what it would do to her at the moment.

The results for the Poetry Contest on WB were posted today, and I was very embarrassed to have received the lowest score of all the contestants. I’m not going to let myself be disheartened though. I’m going to edit my entry a little, as when I edited it I didn’t preserve the correct structure. That lost me points, which I was upset about - such a silly oversight on my part! Never mind, I shall keep entering and we shall see if I improve. Well, that’s about it, folks. I don’t have much else to say. Oh, except for:

Funny Cat. =)

Tee hee. =)
